Your Prayers Are WorkingPrint This Post
“The earnest prayer of a righteous person has great power and produces wonderful results.” (James 5:16, NLT)
A few months have passed by since I informed you about my being diagnosed with cardio-myopathy (i.e., heart failure). I thought you would like to know the latest, so I decided to jot this note for you.
For the most part I feel fine. I am able to function without any apparent limitations. I am gaining strength and endurance bit by bit, and am now able to exert myself in strenuous situations day by day without abnormal consequences.
Having been faithful to the regimen of pills, prayers, and pushing the pedals, I went to the Doc this past Monday for yet another routine office visit and checkup. He examined me and asked me a few questions and then said, “Things are looking really good. I can tell you that as of right now, you are no longer experiencing heart failure.”
My next appointment is set for three months from now, in October, and at that time they will take another sonogram to see how my heart looks compared to when I was first diagnosed. I will let you know what we find out.
The Bible says, “The earnest prayer of a righteous person has great power and produces wonderful results” (James 5:16, NLT). A contemporary translation puts it this way, “Anyone who lives the way God wants can pray, and great things will happen.”
Thank you for praying for me. I ask that you hold the torch high for yet a little while longer, and by God’s grace I will be able to report back to you that I am completely healed.
